The Gospel at Easter

In the beginning, God created all things through His son existing with Him. The earth was dark and there were no animals, trees, or mankind created yet. God looked over the vast expanse of darkness and He created all that we see with the words of His mouth. And all that He saw was good. God made everything good, including mankind.

He made man and woman like himself with the ability to think, reason, love, and to have a free will. The God of the universe named this first man Adam and gave him authority over the entire earth. God was happy with His creation and made just one rule; freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat of its fruit, you will bring death on yourselves and all of the generations which follow you. This referred to a physical death as well as a spiritual death, which separated man from God. Adam and Eve, his wife, disregarded God’s warning by trusting a wayward angel who encouraged them to rebel. They rejected God’s rule meant to keep them safe and ate of the tree which brought death. This rebellion was sin, which brought curses, sickness, and evil on the earth.

Always compassionate, God had a plan to redeem His beloved creation. Nevertheless, disobedience to the Holy God carries a heavy price. A sacrificial death would be required. Temporarily, God took an animal, killed it and clothed Adam and Eve with the skin. But this was not God’s ultimate plan to save man. The blood of an animal was a temporary payment, but it had no power to save man eternally.

God’s plan was for a perfect and permanent sacrifice which required pure blood. So, God sent His only son, Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect life. He loved everyone, performing miracles to free the sick, afflicted, and the poor from the oppression of their life. But this was not His only purpose. He was born to die. Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified on a cross. What man did for evil purposes God used to carry out His plan to redeem the world from the bondage of sin. Jesus took all wickedness like hatred, sickness, pain, depression, sin, and death upon Himself. Jesus’ sacrifice completely removed the barrier that stood between God and all creation.

As Jesus breathed His last, the Savior of the world showed the love He had for all people. He said out loud to His Father, “Father forgive them!&rd2quo: as He died. His death paid the full price for the sin of all humanity and there is no more barrier between God and man. However, that is not the full Easter story. Yes, a body was laid to rest, but unlike any other religious figure before or since, Jesus rose again! Jesus is the living Son of God. The Holy Scriptures report that He was seen alive by hundreds of people after walking out of the tomb that first Easter Sunday. Also, for the last 2,000 years He has been showing that He is still alive by continuing to heal the sick, set the oppressed free, and saving every sinner from death by granting eternal life to all who put their faith in Him.

Every person born in this world carries the curse of Adam and Eve’s original sin. Yet, because Jesus already paid the price, everyone has the opportunity to choose to be free of this curse if they believe His message. In His Ancient writings, it says to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and He will forgive your sins, draw you close to Himself and heal you of your diseases. You must only believe in your heart and call Him Lord with your mouth to be set free.

If you choose His gift, He will give you purpose and many blessings in this life. Then, when you open your eyes after death, your spirit will stand righteous before God. This is good news! When you believe on Him, Jesus will declare you righteous and God will grant you eternal life in glory. This is the true story of Easter.

Ask Him to forgive you today. Believe that Jesus is alive and confess that He is Lord of your life. When you do, God will move into your heart and the most awesome peace in the universe will be instantly yours. Call upon Jesus today and watch His resurrection power touch your life right now. Jesus is risen so that you can be set free now.
