Airfare and travel costs: Students are responsible for their own travel arrangements and costs to enter and leave Thailand. The regional airport coming into Chiang Mai is Chiang Mai Airport (CNX). As of July 1, 2022, all international flights are still routed to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport BKK or Don Mueang International Airport DMK) and a separate flight to Chiang Mai (700 km north of Bangkok) is needed. Also, Covid-19 vaccination documentation is still required to enter Thailand without a lengthy quarantine period in Bangkok. Please check here for the latest travel requirements. Rules change frequently so please check again before departure.
Attendance fee: There is no fee for attending the MTC. We ask only that you pray and give a love offering as you are led to help us cover the cost of training, books, outreaches, in-town transportation for group events, meals, and general accommodations.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for students either on-site or at a local restaurant while on outreach during class time: Monday through Friday.
Dinner and meals during off-time will be the student’s responsibility. There is a small common area kitchen with a refrigerator, hot plate, and microwave to prepare basic meals. There are a few small cafés within walking distance open for lunch and early dinner. Meals may also be ordered for delivery through Grab, Food Panda, and a few other apps.
The average cost of a Thai meal is 50-100 baht. Coffee is 30-60 baht. A bottle of water is 10 baht.
Accommodations: All students will be provided general living accommodations on site at the training facility. There are typically four students assigned to a room. The registration form has a place to note if you have any special requests to be roomed with another student. We will do our best, but cannot guarantee room assignments ahead of time. If you are attending with a spouse and would like to request a family studio room (consisting of one bed, couch, tv and shared bathroom), please note this on the registration form and we will contact you to discuss your cost. If bringing children and caretakers, please contact us first. Family studios are very limited so it will be first come first served.
Children, childcare: There is no childcare or special accomodations available during the duration of the training for children. If you are considering bringing your children, there needs to be someone with you to care for them during all training sessions, group meals, events, and outreaches. You must also rent a second family room for an additional fee, or if already booked by someone else, you may need to secure a hotel room offsite.
